The First Look is a unique moment

The discovery between the bride and the groom

I often write on this website that as a wedding photographer, I don’t interfere during a wedding day. Instead, I capture events as they unfold before my eyes.

However, there is a moment that I occasionally stage when the couple desires it. It’s called the “first look”, the initial gaze, or simply the meeting.

This moment marks the end of preparations and signifies the true beginning of your wedding day. It’s the instant when you see each other dressed as bride and groom, just before the ceremony.

It’s a moment for you, exclusively, a private interlude in a day filled with events and demands.

This will be an intense experience—one you’ll never forget. And it allows me to capture stunning photos!

You’ll also find that meeting before the ceremony alleviates the weight on your shoulders. If you’re naturally anxious and feel nervous before joining your guests, you’ll be delighted to share these moments side by side.

Meet your beloved before the ceremony

To capture beautiful images of your first look, I’ll need to choose the most suitable location. During the preparations, I typically take a few minutes to select a spot with good lighting and an appropriate background.

It’s essential to pick a quiet and tranquil place, away from curious onlookers. We’ll be in our own little world (unless you’d like your loved ones to witness these moments).

This special moment can unfold in various settings: the garden of your reception venue, your home, or perhaps a nearby forest—wherever feels right for you!

However, there’s no need to travel 30 minutes to reach the location for your first look. We won’t add unnecessary transportation to the day’s schedule.

Once we’re there, I’ll guide you to a specific spot. I might make you wait a bit, building anticipation if needed! Then, at my signal, you can turn around, open your eyes, and discover each other!

From that point on, I will leave you in peace. You’ll simply embrace each other and fully experience the moment! And rest assured, by then, you’ll have forgotten about me!

If tears come, don’t hold them back! After all, that’s what I’m here to capture ;)))

If we’re not in a rush and have allocated time for it, we can follow up with a mini portrait session for the couple before heading to the ceremony.

You’ll find that meeting before the ceremony will lift any weight off your shoulders.

Of course, organizing your discovery in this manner is by no means obligatory. If you prefer the traditional approach of seeing each other in the church aisle or during the secular ceremony, that’s perfectly fine too!

In any case, during our preparation meetings, we’ll discuss all these details! Feel free to reach out to me to chat about it!
