50% scottish and 100% french

My mother is Scottish and I was born in France. In my native Bresse, it was a small originality that I was proud to highlight by repeating that I was 50% Scottish and 50% French.

As I grew up, I realized that this was not entirely accurate. I am certainly 50% Scottish but I am indeed 100% French! A pure product of Bresse and adopted Lyonnais! Every time I travel, I unwittingly become the ambassador of French culture and especially French gastronomy!

But a part of me is indeed Scottish. Scotland has always made me vibrate and I feel at home there. In reality, I am 50% Scottish and 100% French. Yes, I know, that makes 150%. Identity does not divide. It accumulates!

I have visited Scotland many times. I even lived there at the end of my studies. But it is especially my family environment that made me come into contact with the English language.

I have visited Scotland many times and I even lived there after my studies. But to say that I am totally bilingual is a bit exaggerated. For me, someone who is really bilingual handles two languages as well as each other and without an accent. Which is not my case.

When I speak English, my French accent is immediately recognized. And I make mistakes. But I can without any difficulty ensure a professional photo service in English, whether it is a corporate event or your wedding: directing a couple during a portrait session, directing a large group for the family photo, interacting with English-speaking guests, etc… All this represents no difficulty for me.

I would even say that I love it! Speaking another language is thinking differently. It’s having a new way of apprehending the world. I find it very enriching, even more so in the context of my job.

I love shooting international weddings. I like the atmosphere there. It reminds me of my childhood when the Scottish, American or German members of my family came to visit us or when, on the contrary, we went to discover their lands. We were always drunk with joy to find each other after so much time spent far from each other. These are wonderful memories.

Beyond the joy of finding each other, there was always the charm of discovering another culture. When two families come together for a wedding and they are from different cultures, there is always a form of emulation that is created between people. This always gives a lot of charm to the wedding atmosphere. An atmosphere that reminds me of sweet memories.

Melinda, Owen, Gianmaria, Ellisha, Diego, Evgeniya, Tzu-Hsuan, Tarun … I have had the chance to photograph the weddings of Franco-Australian, Franco-American, Franco-Indian, Franco-Chinese, Franco-Italian, Franco-Russian couples, etc. These are often expatriates working in London or the United States and who come to get married in the Lyon region because they have a foothold there. It can also be foreigners living in the Lyon region and who wish to invite their family for their wedding day.
